So long, 2024! Hello, summer! This is our final STARS for the year, a list of recommendations for the holidays compiled by your editors with help from friends and frenemies of TPE. After this, we’ll be taking a break for the week of Christmas (and pausing subscriptions), but we’ll be back in the new year with special summer programming throughout the month of January.
Over this past year, Cam attended the Julian Assange extradition trial, hit the Cambridge OzLit conference circuit, and sat down with the First Lady of MONA. Sally hobnobbed at the Melbourne Art Fair, donned a hard hat to investigate the CFMEU, and got scammed on Marketplace. Oscar took a stroll with TT.O., went deep with Spike Fuck, and gave birth at a midwifery conference. Your editors also tried to crack the case of the Tennant Creek Brio's missing pokies, and we welcomed the Fifth Columnist (and his pigeon) into the fold. And our cartoonist Aaron visited Sydney to report on a bustling zine fair.
