If you have opened this email only to find yourself paywalled, you may be interested in our HARROWING DEAL. Until next Monday, you can get a year-long subscription to The Paris End for half price. That’s only $33 for a year’s full access to our archives, the Stars, and our upcoming columns. You can also gift a subscription for the same price. A pasta and granita at Pellegrini’s, two glasses of wine at Le Tuffeau, a few items off the trolley at Shark Fin Inn… all these things cost more than a satiating year of TPE.

To our new subscribers, welcome, thank you, and we hope you enjoy this week’s (uncut) Stars.

★★★★★ Fatbuoy Lobster Fish Market

The Eds happened to find ourselves in Praaaaaahran on the weekend where, deranged with hanger, we stumbled into this incredible seafood shop on Commercial Road. The fridges were piled with high-vis crustaceans of every shape and size. An oyster bar sauce buffet proffered a Sizzler-lux array of options, including champagne jelly, red- and white-wine vinegar mignonettes, tozazu, salsa verde, red nam jim, and bottled hot sauces. Ice-filled blue plastic buckets overflowed with gormless, open-mouthed baby salmon and wild-caught red emperor. “Did you know we can cook any whole fish or fillet for dine in :) if it’s not already on the menu it can be!” one of many perky signs informed us. Instead, we chose slivers of toro sashimi (toro is the lush, fatty meat of a tuna’s belly) and two servings of swordfish skewers. The succulent, meaty chunks were freshly chargrilled to order, and came with the option of adding pita and tzatziki, which we did. As the sign said: “Superb.”
